2014 Lets wrap it up!

Coming to the end of my year I am taking a look back at this journey and I honestly see (and feel) a roller coaster but also one amazing voyage. When I say this I mean, I do see many highs but also just as many lows. There have been tons of characterizing moments throughout my year, and I have had many great accomplishments no doubt about it…

I could go into so many accomplishments I have had this year from running The Boston Marathon which was exhilarating to no end. Running through all states of our nation like Hawaii, New Jersey, California, Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, and of course The New York Marathon. It’s been a whirlwind of nothing but awesome events where I have had opportunities to meet, connect, or talk with people from all walks of life as big as our very own first lady to Olympic athletes and so on and so on….I have had the opportunity to model amazing clothing lines and had some fantastic pictures taken with some top notch photographers across the world…

“We have to dare to be ourselves, however frightening or strange that self may prove to be.”
~ May Sarton

Those highs were awesome believe me but challenges came rolling in with them all… And the funny part of these challenges/lows are I look to them all as just as meaningful or some even more meaningful as those high times they accompanied. There wasn’t a day that went by this year I didn’t walk (wobble) around in pain. Wheather I was running, or walking in 5” heels it was defiantly there! I dealt with managing time between my job at the gym, my job as a mom, my job with modeling, my training and then the marathons… Ahhhhh that tired me out just typing it all! But all of these struggles I look at being so very characterizing for my soul. These struggles taught me so much about myself. They taught me strength, endurance, grit, patience, and most of all how to look my fears straight in the eye and blast through them wide open!!!

“Suffering has been stronger than all other teaching, and has taught me to understand what your heart used to be. I have been bent and broken, but – I hope – into a better shape.” — Charles Dickens
“The future is completely open, and we are writing it moment to moment.” ~Pema Chodron

It is my belief that life knocks us down and around more times than we can count, but only to demonstrate our resilience to stand back up with a firm fist. So I have dusted my wings off for this new year and I am prepared for whatever it has in store for me, which I know will be a good thing…2015 I am ready for you baby….Bring it on!
