Training like a beast…

This morning I got up and decided to go and do some crosstraining that I have always LOVED to do and have been unable to do because of this injury thats lingured on for so long…

I went to Fitgerald and ran the bleachers on their football field. I took my little boy by his grandparents house to visit while I did this but normally he joins his mom in doing this… But this time I decided to bring Matt along and introduce him to my kinda training. When I began running these bleachers I lived in Fitzgerald and was probably 20lbs heavier and was training with weights alot more. My Coach Frank taught me back then that running their small bleachers would assist with leg turnover and running the large bleachers would help my stride and I fell in love with doing them! While I did them I noticed how much easier they were than when I did them years before… They have always been some what of an issue for me because I am alot weaker on my left leg than the right one. When I had my car accident when I was a child I was hit on the right side of my brain and it affected my whole left side so I have worked at stregnthening this old leg very hard for a long time. When I get tired I tend to drag the left leg more and this is why I have more injuries than a normal runner:( It stinks but I have learned to deal with it and all I can say is I go through shoes alot more than usual… When we got done there we went by Hibbetts and I got me a new pair of shoes since I will be starting my marathon training Monday, and I got to speak with one of the inspirational runners I will soon be featuring on my blog…

We had a blast doing the bleachers but I was a little sore from my training I did yesterday. I ran 6.5 miles yesterday morning before work and it felt wonderful!!! I didn’t experience any pain but I did stretch really well before and after and wore my compression socks. The compression socks I have, have a pocket in them that an ice pack can be put in so I wore them at work. Then after work I competed in a crossfit challenge my gym held. I LOVE doing crossfit classes so I always try to participate in the challenges that are given… The crossfit challenge consisted of some running and jumping that was totally against my training regimine and I did it and luckily didn’t end up injured…

I love training like I do. People say things to me alot about being obsessive with it but this is what makes me happy! There were many years I was not in a situation to do any of this so I have a true passion for doing all of these things and I tell alot of my friends to do what ever it is that makes them happy, whatever it may be!
