Today is Friday a rest day with my running. Although its a rest day from running I got a text a few seconds ago from a fellow obsessive workout friend of mine I’ve blogged about before that I enjoy working out with. He’s in town from school and is working out at lunch and invited me to join so I will definitely be doing that! We will be doing my favorite, upper body and abs…
Yesterday I planned a 35 minute tempo run in the am at home but it was flooding and normally I love running in rain but since I run on dirt roads I knew they would be too muddy to run on so I tackled the run on my lunch break instead. The weather was nice for this run it wasn’t too hot and I spoke with one of my coaches Matt and he told me to try and keep my pace at around 8. So I kept it from 7:45-8:05 throughout and it was an awesome feeling. I have to say its so nice to be able to do this again at a good speed without horrible pain… I keep an attitude of grattitude in my life especially with my training and I developed this through once again learning hard lessons in my life! That afternoon I didn’t do the crossfit class because I am trying to back off of it as much as I can although this is hard for me to do…
On Wednesday I didn’t get up to do my 7 mile run in the morning. My mom has had surgery on her foot and I hate to take my little man down to her if she is hurt so I have been just doing alot of my running on my lunch hour. So I squeezed the 7 miles in on lunch. It was what I consider to be a fast run, I did it at an overall pace of 8:15! HOLY COW is what I was thinking but there was absolutely no way I was not going to get this run in… I did do my crossfit class that afternoon. I know it sounds like I may do alot but I am very acccustomed to a routine such as this, my original trainers from way back when started me out this way. Heck Frank had me doing double runs when I trained for my 1st marathon. I averaged 80 miles a week doing that marathon and probably should have qualified for Boston then but I developed a stitch around Mile 22 and had to walk…
Tuesday I did a 4 mile run at a pace of around 8:30 and I did my crossfit class that afternoon, and Monday was a rest day for me because I did my long run in Michigan of 13 miles and it was a great long run. It was hilly and cool! My plans for the rest of the weekend are as follows… Tomorrow morning I will be doing a 5K in Albany The River Run a run I have done many times over the years, then tomorrow afternoon I will be doing another 5K in Tifton The Jog for Jake and I think I may have done this run twice. Either way I look forward to both of these runs and it will give me my estimated mileage for the day, then on Sunday I am supposed to tackle a 14 mile long run and I plan on doing that run with a group in Macon…Another exciting weekend!
